§ 02 · The misconception

Most people approach the market in one of two ways — and both fail.

It isn't a moral failing. It's a category error. Treating a serious financial skill as a gamble or a shortcut is precisely why ~9 in 10 lose.

Approach one

The casino

Random bets. Tips from WhatsApp groups. Gut calls because a stock "feels ready." Hoping to get lucky. There is no method to defend, so there is no method to improve.

  • × No written rules
  • × No risk budget
  • × Outcomes confused with skill

Approach two

The magic indicator

Hunting for the one secret setup, the perfect oscillator, the YouTube guru's pattern. Searching for the shortcut that lets you skip the work the professional already did.

  • × Tool worship over thinking
  • × Constant strategy-hopping
  • × No real edge, only hope

"A surgeon doesn't 'feel lucky'. An auditor doesn't 'wing it'. They followed a structured education, built a method, and earned the right to practise. Trading is no different."

From the Practitioner introduction lecture
§ 03 · The reframe

Successfully trading the market is part science and part art.

The science, you can learn. The art comes with disciplined experience. That's the whole philosophy here.

Teachable & structured i.

The science

A rigorous foundation in the things that have an answer — the way a professional school would, not the way a 60-second ad does.

  • How markets actually work — instruments, mechanics, microstructure.
  • Risk management and position sizing — the professional's first skill.
  • Reading price and structure on historical data.
  • Building, back-testing, and defending a rules-based plan.
  • Managing yourself — journaling, reviewing, course-correcting.
Earned with experience ii.

The art

The judgement that only develops by applying the science honestly, over time. We don't promise you the art — we give you the framework in which it can grow.

  • Patience — the discipline to wait for your setup.
  • Temperament — the composure when a trade goes against you.
  • Conviction — earned through the journal, not borrowed from a tip.
  • Honesty — the habit of reviewing what actually happened.
  • Restraint — knowing when not to trade is itself a skill.
§ 04 · The named methodology

The AK Practitioner Curriculum

A structured progression from beginner to practitioner — built like a diploma, not a webinar funnel. Progressive modules, clear outcomes, and a focus on competence you can demonstrate, not a single "secret" you'll forget by Friday.

Programme arc

Foundation → Core discipline → Technique → Method → Mastery

I Foundation

Weeks 1–2

Market structure, instruments, how trading really works. The vocabulary and mechanics every serious participant must own first.

II Core discipline

Weeks 3–5

Risk management and position sizing — the professional's first skill, taught before any setup is shown.

III Technique

Weeks 6–8

Reading price and structure on historical data — the cleanest possible apprenticeship in what charts actually say.

IV Method

Weeks 9–11

Building and back-testing a rules-based plan. By the end, you have a written method you can defend — not a tip you can repeat.

V Mastery & temperament

Weeks 12–14

Psychology, journaling, continuous review — the practitioner's loop you'll run for the rest of your career.

"Built like a course, not a webinar funnel: progressive modules, clear outcomes, and a focus on competence you can demonstrate — not a single 'secret' you'll forget by Friday."

ABUL KALAM CA · NISM-RA
§ 05 · Faculty

"I came to the market from Chartered Accountancy. I teach it as a discipline — because that's the only version that lasts."

Chartered Accountant (ICAI, 2011) — first-attempt rank-holder; four years at a Big Four audit practice.

NISM-Series-XV Research Analyst certified. CMT Level II candidate.

12+ years in markets — ex-equity research at a leading Indian brokerage; full-time independent trader since 2018.

4,200+ learners taught across ten cohorts since the curriculum launched.

"Audit taught me that opinion without evidence is worthless. I bring the same standard here. Every claim in this course has a working, a back-test, or an honest 'we don't know yet' next to it. If you've ever sat through a trading webinar and thought surely this can be taught the way real disciplines are taught — this is that course."

§ 06 · Practitioner voices

What serious learners say after the programme.

We don't publish "₹X lakh in a week" screenshots — we don't believe in them, and we don't sell them. We publish what changed in how our practitioners think, build, and operate. The serious version of a results section.

"I'm an engineer, and every 'trading guru' ad made me cringe. This was the first thing that felt like an actual education — structured, rigorous, honest. I now have a method I understand and can defend."

Karthik N.

Senior SDE · Bengaluru · Cohort 08

"I stopped thinking of it as 'making quick money' and started treating it as a skill I'm building for life. That mindset shift was worth the fee alone — and the curriculum gave me the tools to act on it."

MS

Meera S.

Product Manager · Pune · Cohort 09

"I'd done two other 'courses' before this. They were entertainment. This one was an education — the risk and journaling modules alone changed how I show up to the screen."

RT

Rohan T.

CA · Mumbai · Cohort 07

"What stayed with me was the honesty — Abul openly says 'we don't know' when something is genuinely uncertain. Every other educator I'd encountered had answers for everything. That alone made me trust the rest."

DV

Divya V.

Investment Banker · Hyderabad · Cohort 09

"I'm a doctor — I have zero free time. The evening modules, recordings, and the practitioner journal made this work for me. After 14 weeks I have a written plan, a journal, and the discipline to stop trading when my rules say so."

AP

Dr. Ananya P.

Cardiologist · Chennai · Cohort 10

"The capstone — building and presenting your own written method — is the single most useful exercise I've done in a paid course. I still re-read my own document every quarter."

§ 07 · Course catalogue

The full syllabus — seven modules, fourteen weeks.

Diploma-style structure, outcome-led. Every module ends in a small written artefact — a checklist, a back-tested rule, a journal entry — that you keep for your career. Click any module to read the detail.

01

Module · 2 weeks

Foundations of the market

Instruments, mechanics, cash vs F&O, market participants and microstructure — and a clear, evidence-led look at why most retail traders lose. By the end you can read a contract spec, explain how an order matches, and tell the difference between liquidity and noise.

  • Sessions: 8
  • Live: 4 · Recorded: 4
  • Workbook: 32 pages
  • Artefact: Market-mechanics quiz pass
02

Module · 3 weeks

Risk management — the professional's first skill

Position sizing, R-multiples, expectancy, drawdown control, account-level rules. Taught before any "setup" — because every professional method depends on the survival rules underneath it. You leave with your own written risk policy.

  • Sessions: 12
  • Toolkit: Position-size calculator
  • Workbook: Risk worked examples
  • Artefact: Personal risk policy v1
03

Module · 3 weeks

Reading price — trend, structure, support & resistance

Taught exclusively on historical case studies — Nifty, Bank Nifty, large-cap equities. The aim is to teach you to read what the chart actually says, not to memorise patterns. We avoid live signals on purpose — that's not an education, that's a habit.

  • 30 historical case studies
  • Annotated chart workbook
  • Artefact: Your own annotated set
04

Module · 3 weeks

Building a trading plan — rules, entries, exits, back-testing

How to take what you've learned and translate it into a written, defensible plan: instrument universe, conditions, entries, exits, sizing, review cadence. Back-test your own idea over 24 months of historical data and present the results.

  • 1-Page plan template
  • Back-test worksheet
  • Artefact: Written trading plan v1
05

Module · 2 weeks

Trading psychology & temperament

Discipline as a habit, not a feeling. The cognitive biases that hurt traders most. Pre-commitments, decision-journals, recovery routines after losses. This is the difference between someone who knows the rules and someone who follows them.

  • Sessions: 8
  • Cognitive bias reader
  • Artefact: Personal pre-trade ritual
06

Module · 1 week

Review & continuous improvement

Journaling, the practitioner's loop, monthly and quarterly reviews. How to find your own weakest link without lying to yourself — and how to fix it before the next cycle.

  • The Practitioner Journal
  • Review templates (M/Q/Y)
  • Artefact: First monthly review
07

Capstone · Final week

Assemble and present your own written method

The capstone: a written, back-tested, peer-reviewed method that you present to the cohort. This is educational — there is no live capital deployment in the programme — but the document is yours for the rest of your career.

  • Written method (15–20 pp.)
  • Peer & faculty review
  • Artefact: Completion certificate
Certification pathway

A real completion certificate. An honest pathway to NISM & NSE Academy.

Every Practitioner graduate receives a verifiable completion certificate (specimen shown at the top of this page). We also guide you through the official NISM-Series-XV Research Analyst certification and the NSE Academy Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM) pathway — real regulator-recognised credentials we don't issue ourselves but help you earn.

  • Verifiable completion certificate

Issued by AK Practitioner; signed by faculty.

  • NISM-Series-XV preparation

Structured study plan + mock examinations.

  • NSE Academy NCFM guidance

    Module selection, exam scheduling, prep.

§ 09 · Honest answers

The questions a serious learner asks.

If your question isn't here, write to admissions@aktradingacademy.in. We answer every email personally — usually within one working day.

Q

Is this just another get-rich course?

No. We sell a skill and a structured education, never a windfall. If you want a shortcut, this isn't it; if you want a real discipline, it is.
Q

Will I get a certificate? Is it recognised?

Yes — every graduate receives a verifiable Practitioner completion certificate, issued by us. That is not the same as a SEBI-recognised credential. For regulator-recognised credentials, we guide you through the official NISM-Series-XV Research Analyst examination and the NSE Academy NCFM pathway, which you sit independently. We never imply we issue a credential we don't.
Q

Will you give me tips or trading signals?

No. Professionals make their own decisions; our job is to make you capable of that. Every chart we discuss is historical and used for teaching. You will not receive trade calls in this programme — and you should be cautious of anyone selling them.
Q

Do you guarantee returns?

No, and no legitimate educator can. We teach competence; outcomes depend on you. Approximately 9 in 10 traders lose money — we teach the discipline of the minority. Anyone promising guaranteed returns is either misinformed or worse.
Q

I'm a working professional / beginner. Can I keep up?

Yes. The programme is designed for working professionals: live sessions are scheduled on weekday evenings (8:00 – 9:30 PM IST) and Saturday mornings, every session is recorded, and the workbook + community let you progress at your own pace if you miss a week. The vast majority of our learners hold full-time jobs.
Q

What if I'm absolutely new to the market?

The curriculum begins at Foundation — instruments, mechanics, what "buying a stock" actually means. We assume no prior knowledge. Roughly 40% of every cohort starts here from scratch; many of them outperform veterans because they begin without bad habits to unlearn.
Q

How is this different from a free YouTube course?

YouTube can teach you what an indicator is. It cannot give you a structured 14-week curriculum, peer review, a written capstone, faculty office hours, a moderated community, or accountability. The difference is the difference between reading a textbook in a library and graduating from a programme.
Q

What is the refund policy?

A no-questions-asked 7-day refund window from the day the cohort begins. Write to admissions, and the entire fee is returned. We'd rather you leave honestly than stay reluctantly.
§ 10 · Risk-reversal

A 7-day, no-questions-asked refund.

Join the cohort. Sit through the first week. If this doesn't feel like the most rigorous, professional trading education you've encountered — write to us, and we return every rupee. No survey, no exit-call, no "are you sure". We'd rather you leave honestly than stay reluctantly.

  • Refund window: 7 days from cohort start date.
  • One email to admissions@aktradingacademy.in is all that's required.
  • Returned in full to the original payment instrument within 7 working days.
  • No questions on the way out. We mean it.
§ 11 · The next intake

Stop gambling on the market. Start learning it like a profession.

The next intake begins Monday, 14 July 2026. Seats are limited to 60, deliberately — to keep the cohort serious and the feedback personal. Once they're gone, the next cohort opens in October.
